Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Amelia Robertson, and it is my privilege to share with you the word of God through devotions, poems, and other writings.

Since I was young, I have felt God calling me to serve him by sharing his truth. I wanted to start a blog and online business from home but never knew where to start until now.

I decided to trust God and take the leap of faith to create Homemakers Cornerstone.
This is a place where I can share my devotions, thoughts, and homemaking.

I plan to share tips on homemaking and products that have helped make my life as a housewife easier.

My goal is to reach other people with God’s word using my everyday life experiences.

I am a sinner who loves God, and I just want to share all the ways he makes himself known in my life, so that I can help others as he has helped me.

The Lord has blessed me with many interests to use in his ministry, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you who takes an interest in Homemakers Cornerstone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the content that has been provided. Have a blessed day!

Sincerely,
Amelia Robertson

How Did Homemakers Cornerstone Get Its Name?

A homemaker is someone who cares for the home and puts the needs of those living in it first.

A cornerstone is a base from which a house is built. It provides a starting point for a stable foundation and stability for everything it holds.

I am a homemaker, and Jesus is the cornerstone of my life, beliefs, marriage, home, and purpose. The walls are joined together by the cornerstone; I am joined together with God and my husband through Jesus Christ.

Although, they are only two words they both carry many meanings and sum up the center of my life. God is my homemaker, and his only son Jesus is my cornerstone.

“As you come to him, the living stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him. You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in the scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
1 Peter 2: 4-7, NIV

This Is True Happiness“Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” Ecclesiastes 4:6 NIVThe stars shined bright against the black sky as I stood in the shadows on my back porch, listening to the creek run through the valley like a soothing lullaby. The owls and frogs took the lead in the night’s serenade, and as my eyes followed a shooting star that disappeared into nothing, I thought to myself, this is true happiness.Happiness looks different to everyone, yet it’s something we all spend our lives chasing. We tell ourselves, if I just had that house… that car… a little more money… The list never ends—and somehow, neither does the searching. The truth is, those big moments do bring happiness—but only for a little while. Like a shooting star, they’re exciting to see, breathtaking in the moment, and then… gone. Before we know it, we’re already chasing the next thing, often missing the quiet, steady joy that was right in front of us all along.Later, after the chill set in, I went inside and stood by the heater, letting the warmth run through me. Watching the flame dance and feeling the heat on my face, I thought again, this is true happiness. It wasn’t the big moment—it was the small one.Happiness isn’t found in what we’re chasing. It’s found in what we’re living. It’s in the first sip of coffee in the morning. In the smell of summer air after it rains. In the changing colors of the trees in fall.In the warmth of a fire by the creek. In clean sheets, fresh from the wash.In blankets still warm from the dryer. In meals made with your own hands. In gardens growing, bees buzzing, and bare feet in the grass. These small moments… they aren’t small at all. They are gifts—placed gently throughout our days by a loving God who knew we would need them. We’ve heard it said, it’s the journey that matters, not the destination. And here, in this life, that feels true. Because real happiness isn’t waiting somewhere ahead—it’s woven into the ordinary, the quiet, the unnoticed.Even now, sitting wrapped in a blanket with a warm cup of tea, listening to the stillness of a sleeping house… I find myself thinking once more, this is true happiness.Reflection Questions:1. What “big thing” have I been chasing for happiness?2. What small moments have I overlooked recently?3. When was the last time I truly slowed down and felt grateful?4. How can I become more mindful of God’s presence in my everyday life?Heavenly Father,Thank You for the simple, quiet moments that bring peace to my heart. Forgive me for the times I’ve chased after things that could never truly satisfy me. Help me to slow down, to be present, and to recognize the beauty You’ve placed in my everyday life.Open my eyes to the small blessings—the ones I often overlook—and remind me that true joy comes from You, not from this world. Teach me to be content, to be grateful, and to find happiness in Your presence each day.In Jesus’ name, Amen.#ChristianLiving #FaithOverEverything #SimpleJoy #BiblicalEncouragement #SlowLiving #ChristianWomen #FaithBasedLife #GodsPeace #HomemakerLife #GratefulHeart #ContentmentInChrist #EverydayBlessings #WalkWithGod #FaithJourney #ChristianBlog See MoreSee Less

The Ones Who Stay"So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”Hebrews 13:6 ESVI thought I was saving them. That’s what I told myself when I brought them home—that I was giving them a better life, a safe place, a second chance. But somewhere along the way, I realized something deeper…They were saving me too.On the hard days—when my body is tired, when the weight of chronic illness feels heavy, when everything inside me just wants to give up—they don’t leave. They stay. They don’t need explanations. They don’t ask me to be stronger than I am.They don’t walk away when I’m at my lowest. They sit beside me.They follow me from room to room. They remind me, in the quietest way, that I’m not alone. And in their presence, I see a reflection of something greater.Because God stays too. When I’m weak—He stays. When I’m overwhelmed—He stays. When I feel like I have nothing left to give—He still doesn’t give up on me.Just like my dogs don’t.They don’t measure my worth by what I can do.They love me simply because I’m theirs. And isn’t that how God loves us?Not because we have it all together. Not because we’re strong every day.But because we belong to Him.What I thought was rescue… became a reminder.A daily, living picture of loyalty.Of presence.Of unwavering love. They keep me going. And through them, God gently whispers:“So do I.”Give your dog('s) a hug today because God sent them to you as a reminder of His unfailing love. They save us everyday. Reflection Questions:1. When have you felt God’s presence through something unexpected?2. Are you allowing yourself to rest in God’s love on your hardest days?3. What reminders has God placed in your life to show you He hasn’t left you?Dear Lord,Thank You for meeting me in the middle of my hardest days.Thank You for the quiet reminders that I am never alone.Help me to see Your love in the small, everyday moments—and to trust that You stay, no matter what I’m facing.Give me strength for today, and peace for what I cannot control. Grace in the Everyday“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”Proverbs 31:27There are days when the laundry piles up, the dishes sit longer than they should, and the house doesn’t look the way we hoped it would. In those moments, it’s easy to feel like we’ve fallen behind—not just in our homes, but somehow in life itself. We see “perfect homes” on social media and begin to believe that our homes should look like something out of a magazine. But in reality, homes are lived in. Things get used, moved, and worn. Dirt finds its way back, and after cleaning, it often feels like it all begins again. That’s life.I want to keep my home spotless, but in trying to do so, I often fall behind. Every day something needs to be done—or done again—and the truth is, it’s not possible for everything to always be “finished.”What I try to remember is that God’s grace sets me free from perfectionism.God does not measure us by the state of our countertops or the number of tasks we’ve completed. His love for us does not rise and fall with our productivity. His grace does not run out when the laundry overflows. And His presence does not leave when the house is messy.Jesus invites us to come to Him as we are—not after everything is finished, not after everything is in order, but right in the middle of the unfinished, the undone, and the overwhelming.“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28Rest is not a reward for getting everything right. It is a gift from a God who knows our limits. So if your home feels behind today, maybe what your heart needs most isn’t more pressure—but permission.Permission to pause.Permission to breathe.Permission to rest in the truth that you are loved not for what you accomplish, but because you belong to Him.The work will still be there. But so will His grace. And that is enough.Reflection Questions1. In what areas of your life do you feel the pressure to be “perfect”?2. How does this devotional challenge the way you view productivity and rest?3. What would it look like to give yourself grace in your home today?Dear heavenly Father,Thank You for Your grace that meets me right where I am. When I feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done, remind me that my worth is not found in my productivity, but in being Your child. Help me to release the pressure of perfection and to rest in Your peace.Teach me to steward my home with wisdom, but also to honor the limits You have given me.Give me a heart that finds rest in You, even in the middle of the undone. And help me to walk in Your grace today. I thought I needed “me time”…But every time I finally got it, something still felt empty. The house would be quiet. My coffee would be warm.Everything should have felt peaceful…But it wasn’t.Because what I really needed wasn’t time to myself.I needed time with God.The world tells us to focus on ourselves. But no amount of “me time” will ever fill a heart that was created for Him.When I stopped trying to pour into myselfand started sitting with God instead…everything changed. The peace I was searching for finally showed up.Not because life got quieter—but because my heart did.If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, restless, or even a little empty…maybe it’s not “me time” you need.Maybe it’s God time. If this spoke to you then my new blog post was written for you. There you can find scriptures to help you back to God and see some of my favorite items I use for bible study time. ⬇️homemakerscornerstone.com/turning-me-time-into-god-time-how-to-find-true-peace-in-his-presence/#QuietTimeWithGod #ChristianTips #FaithHabits #DailyDevotion #BibleStudy #ChristianLife #PeacefulHome #ChristianHome #BiblicalHomemaking #FaithFilledHome #SimpleLiving #ChristianMom #FaithOverSelf #ChristianWomen #EncouragementForWomen #GodIsEnough #FaithJourney #ChristianInspiration #homemakerscornerstone See MoreSee Less
